Catching up with Summer....

This summer has flown by, so far, faster than any summer I can remember! It has been absolutely crazy! I feel like things are just now slowing down, yet the summer is nearing the halfway point.....what?!?!?!?!? This can't be true! To make matters worse....I have been a huge slacker when it comes to blogging! So, here goes a quick catch-up session of our summer so far......

I started off the summer at cheer camp @ Great Wolf Lodge! It was me and 18 middle school kids! Sounds crazy, huh? We had a good time and the girls did a great job! Here is a picture of them one evening after an evaluation!......ps...they received a BLUE RIBBON!

While I was at cheer camp, Everett got to spend the week with Ma D and Pop D (his new name for Mama D and Papa D), at home in McAllen as well as the ranch in the Hill Country! He had a blast as you can imagine!

Here is a picture of some of the elk as you drive back to Mom and Dad's place! They are so calm and beautiful! We also get to see Zebra, Black Buck, Kangarro, Whitetail Deer, Camel (yes, camel), and lots of other varieties of exotics! Its awesome and E loves it!

Just in time for Everett to spend time at the ranch, Dad constructed this huge sandbox! Everett loved it. This is a pic of him and I playing in it! I drove down to spend a week there after cheer camp and pick him up! We had a blast! Everett liked to build the castles....but he had even more fun crumbling them to the ground!

This is the back patio that was just finished on the little "Casita" at the ranch! It was awesome! Loved spending our meal times and morning coffee time out there! It was so pleasant and the breeze was great! Just off those steps is the hot tub...we didn't get in it while we were there...but I can't wait for next time!

With all the rain they have had in the Hill Country this spring/early summer, this waterfall has gone from almost non-existant to flowing quite well! The pool there at the bottom is about 5 feet deep and so fun! Dad, Everett, and I all jumped off the top into the pool! It was exhilarating and so fun! I will admit, Everett didn't jump willingly, but I think he ended up liking it!

He really had fun playing in all the creeks around the ranch! It was like an explorer's paradise, and he has turned into quite the little explorer!

Back at home we have had a lot of fun playing in the backyard on the pirate ship and in the water toys! He loves being outside....it is his favorite place to be! I hope it stays that way as he grows! Here he is in the water toys his Grandma King bought him! This was his run and jump splash! He loves it!

We have also spent lots of time sitting on the back porch having popsicles and water gun fights! I love these fun moments and will always remember them!

I also forgot to mention that while he spent the week with Ma D and Pop D while I was at cheer camp, he met "DR. POP D"! He did well and got a clean bill of dental health! No cavities here!

The last big thing that has happened so far this summer is that Everett no longer has a nursery and crib next to Mommy and Daddy's room! Nope! He is now a BIG BOY with a BIG BOY ROOM & BED all the way on the other side of the house in his own BIG BOY ROOM! He has done really well and transitioned into the big boy bed well! No problems! He loves it and we are so thankful! Here are a few shots of his room....I am still waiting to add a few things to it to make it complete, but overall we are happy with how it turned out!

Next time will be a lot sooner!!!! My goal is to blog about once a week or maybe even more! We shall see! Until then, love you all and hope you are enjoying your summer!
